| Top-ranked UNC plays host to South Carolina State
The top-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels get back to work this evening, as they play host to the South Carolina State Bulldogs in second-round action of the Las Vegas Invitational. The first two rounds are played at campus venues, with the last two slated for Sin City next week. The Heels opened their home portion of their 2007-08 schedule against Iona in the first round of this event on Sunday and much to the delight of the hometown faithful, made light work of the Gaels, 107-72. That kind of domination is the reason UNC is regarded as one of the real favorites to win the national title this year. The Bulldogs are in way over their heads in this contest and bring an 0-3 record into Chapel Hill. This is not how first-year head coach Tim Carter envisioned the start of his tenure in Orangeburg.

A Thirst for Change
After leaving corporate jobs at 34, Kara and Theo Goldin launched a line of naturally flavored waters The first time Kara Goldin left her job as a vice-president at AOL was in 1996, the boom years. Kara's boss quickly persuaded her to return. The second time she left, the decision stuck. It was early 2001, and Kara figured her best days at AOL were behind her: She and her team had built an online shopping business, and now she was expected to maintain it. Then there was the matter of the Time Warner (TWX ) merger. She wasn't eager to work for an even more bureaucratic company. "I love the idea of creating a need, of building something new," she says. .
Fulmer has Tennessee vying for title
Phillip Fulmer doesn't quite have the horses he's had on some of his better Tennessee football teams. There are no Peyton Mannings under center or Jamal Lewises in the backfield, no Donte Stallworths out wide and no Albert Haynesworths or John Hendersons on the defensive line. But while the Vols might not be loaded with future NFL Draft picks, they have certainly proven to be one of Fulmer's most resilient teams. UT has been left for dead at several different points this season. The Vols were written off after early blowout losses on the road to California and Florida, but they bounced back with a resounding 35-14 win over Georgia. They then seemed to find their groove by following up the Georgia win with a road win at Mississippi State, only to fall flat and get whipped at Alabama 41-17 the following week.
Remarks by Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. before the U.S.-Africa Business Summit on the Remarkable Change and ...
Cape Town, South Africa--Good evening. Thank you, Dr. Sturchio, for the kind introduction, and thank you to the Corporate Council on Africa for the opportunity to speak to such a notable gathering of business, government and academic leaders. Africa is a unique continent: diverse in people and heritage, with some of the most spectacular geography and biodiversity on the planet. All too often, however, those who do not know Africa well associate the continent with issues like famine, conflict and disease. Tonight, I will talk about a much different Africa, one with which I suspect most of you are more familiar a continent of diverse nations increasingly defined by economic opportunity and promise. Most importantly, I will talk about an Africa where leaders are taking control of their own economic futures and continuing to move beyond reliance on donors.
